Spurs all star team arrived at the Hawthorns on top of the league with a seven point lead over Sheffield Wednesday, who are the only team to beat them so far this season. They were back to form last week in thrashing Birmingham City 6-0 at White Hart Lane. Two of the Albion team, Bobby Robson for England and Graham Williams for Wales were in action at Wembley on Wednesday. Albion experimented with two regular full backs, Howe and Graham Williams in the forward line.

Tommy Wilson, the recent signing from Notts Forest has slotted into the Walsall side without any trouble and has scored in every game he has played so far, including the only goal of the game today.
