Billy Bremner had left Leeds United to join Hull City as player manager and his presence was sorely missed as United went down to an impressive Manchester United side. You had the feeling that Leeds would never be the same again without Bremner. Not long after his departure Norman Hunter was transferred to Bristol City, so the break up of the impressive half back line, which lasted for so long, Bremner, Charlton and Hunter, was complete. Revie's team was falling apart.
