Chelsea also won the second leg 1-0 at Maine Road two weeks later, thus winning the tie on an aggregate of 2-0. The went on to face Real Madrid in the final in Greece on 19th May. The first match was drawn 1-1 and a replay took place two days later which Chelsea won 2-1 to take the trophy.
