So ended my final season in the West Midlands after eighteen years of watching West Bromwich Albion, Walsall, Wolves, Aston Villa and Birmingham City.

Two very emotional games at the end, with Leeds United seemingly robbed of a place at Wembley with that controversial disallowed goal in the semi-final at Villa Park. Then poor old Villa relegated to Division Two for only the third time in the long and distinguished history in the very final match.

After six months back in Yorkshire at Bradford at the beginning of the following season, I settled down in Matlock, Derbyshire for four years watching Derby County and Matlock Town. Then into Sheffield for three years, where I watched both local sides, before returning back to square one in Leeds in 1975.
