The Fulham squad.
Having recently moved from Matlock into Sheffield it was something of a bonus to win season tickets for myself and my six year old son for season 1972-73 as a result of this Father and Son competition.
We did not miss many matches as, however bad United were at times, we felt obliged to go to every home game where possible.

Liverpool were on top initially with Boersma looking dangerous in attack. After 27 minutes the visitors went ahead when a cross from McAuley on the left was met by Higham who headed the ball into the corner of the net.
Five minutes later United were level after a mix up in the Liverpool defence. Ryland tried a back pass to his goalkeeper which went well wide of him for Ford to nip to put the ball into the empty net.
Half-time 1-1.
Holmes put United ahead during the second half but McAuley, always dangerous on the left wing, got the equaliser for Liverpool.
